Wooded Retreat
Located on a beautiful wooded site in Lake Country, this remodel consists of renovations and additions to a 1950’s contemporary style home designed by a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright. Overall, the addition to the home feels like it always was a part of the existing house.
The addition to the home takes advantage of the views of a natural kettle on the property, high up in the trees, which lend to a treehouse-like feel. The new interiors, including an updated kitchen and master bath, blended into the existing with clean lines.
The existing roof was insulated to improve the energy efficiency of the house. New, double-pane glass windows replaced inefficient original single-pane glass windows.
A new basement was also added to improve the amount of storage in the original home.
