Cast Iron Apartments

The former West Bend Manufacturing Building had sat vacant for over 20 years. Johnson Design teamed up with Hendrick’s Commercial Properties, CCI (Corporate Contractors Incorporated), and Inland Construction to build out 70 high-end, contemporary apartments.

The apartments ranged from small studio units to multi-story, multi-bedroom units. The units feature high-end finishes along with loft-like ceiling heights. We kept several of the Art Deco styles that were originally cast into the building. Mixing the old with the new proved to be a successful design philosophy.
